Abby Schletzbaum started as the Emergency Management Director at UNLPD in May of 2024. Prior to joining UNL, Abby served in the positions of Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Recovery Program Specialist - Deputy State Public Assistance Officer for the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and as a Disaster Program Specialist for the American Red Cross in Nebraska. She has participated in disaster response and recovery for major events including Hurricane Harvey and the 2019 Midwest floods.
