Cassie is an educator and innovation leader dedicated to shaping the future of higher education. She is a proud alum of both the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL) and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), where she earned both her BA and MA in Sociology. Cassie taught Sociology full-time at a community college before spending several years as an instructional designer at UNO. Most recently, Cassie served as the inaugural program manager of UNO's AI Learning Lab before beginning her role as Director of Emerging Technologies for the NU system in January 2026.

Cassie plays a key role in advancing AI integration across the NU system. Cassie has designed various AI workshops, launched a six-week professional development course, and created an AI prompt book to support instructors and staff in thoughtfully incorporating AI into their work. Passionate about upskilling faculty and staff, she focuses on equipping learners with practical AI skills that prepare them for an evolving workforce, always centered on empowering people to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
