Charlie Foster has dedicated more than two decades to serving the University of Nebraska–Lincoln community. Since joining the university in 2001, she has built a career centered on supporting the well-being and success of students, faculty, and staff. She began her work in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), where she spent 15 years contributing to student mental health initiatives.

She later transitioned to the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, where she expanded her impact by supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. During this time, she also contributed to university-wide programs such as Hate Will Never Win and Husker Dialogues. Charlie currently serves in the Employee Assistance Program, where she provides support to faculty, staff, and graduate employees, while continuing to advise student organizations including the Afrikan People’s Union, Sister Circle, and the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk.

Her contributions have been recognized with the Leadership Lincoln Melvin W. Jones Mentoring Award and the Chancellor’s Fulfilling the Dream Award.
