Dr. Kathleen Lodl serves as associate dean of Nebraska Extension and 4-H program administrator at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In 2020, she assumed the additional role of campus engagement lead, where she has advanced the university’s commitment to community collaboration and impact. She led the successful effort to secure the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, recognizing UNL’s excellence in partnering with communities to address real-world challenges.

Kathleen helped establish the UNL Engagement Collaborative and guide the development of a campus-wide strategic plan for engagement. Her work includes advancing professional development for faculty, integrating engagement into promotion and tenure processes, and documenting the university’s statewide reach and impact. She also serves as chair of the Big Ten Engagement Consortium.

Throughout her career, Kathleen has secured more than $15 million in grant funding, co-authored two books, published 30+ refereed articles, and delivered numerous presentations focused on family science and community-based research.
