Housed in the Office of Research and Innovation, Jocelyn Bosley is UNL's first-ever Research Impact Coordinator. In this role, which she began in 2020, she draws upon her undergraduate training in STEM, her graduate training in the history of science, and her experience as a STEM educator to support faculty in advancing the societal benefits of their research, scholarship, and creative activity. Since joining UNL in 2015 as the Education and Outreach Coordinator of the Nebraska Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, Jocelyn has organized a broad range of initiatives to engage diverse participants and audiences with STEM research, including the NSF-funded website Funsize Physics, which she curates; the UNL Science Slam, which she co-founded; and the biennial No Coast SciComm conference, which she co-chairs. She is a past NSF Graduate Research Fellow, has been honored as a Raytheon Math Hero for her mentorship of K-12 students, and in 2019, she was selected by the American Association for the Advancement of Science as one of 125 IF/THEN Ambassadors to serve as high-profile role models for girls in STEM. She is also a proud recipient of the 2024 UNL Staff Senate Research Impact Award.
