Jon Gayer is a higher education professional focused on Alcohol and Other Drug Education (AODE) and student well-being at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His work centers on developing data-informed prevention strategies that address substance use, gambling, and high-risk behaviors among college students. A growing area of Jon's work focuses on sports betting and problem gambling among college students. Through targeted messaging, campus partnerships, and grant-funded efforts, he explores how gambling intersects with student life, particularly during high-profile sporting events, and equips staff and students with practical strategies to recognize risk, stay in control, and support peers.
