Kali Patterson, Project Coordinator and Lead Advisor in undergraduate research and fellowships, began her undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a first-generation, low-income student. An alum of the William H. Thompson Learning Community, she earned bachelor's degrees in communication studies and global studies and holds over five years of experience in program development, event planning, and research administration. Kali supports high-impact practices designed to engage students in the research mission of the university and promote access to national and international fellowships. Her work includes the coordination and evaluation of the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Experiences (UCARE) and First Year Research Experience (FYRE) programs as well as application to fellowships. She advises students curious about or actively participating in UCARE and FYRE as well as students interested in taking preliminary steps toward fellowships advising.
