
Kim Schellpeper

Kim Schellpeper joined Nebraska Athletics in 1996 and was promoted to associate director of academic programs in 2007. She has served as an academic counselor and the coordinator of learning development programs for 29 years. Schellpeper coordinates academic support for the softball, football, and women’s basketball programs. Her additional responsibilities include administration, hiring, training, and evaluation of the tutorial program where she supervises between 55-65 student workers each semester. Schellpeper also serves as the liaison to the Office for Students with Disabilities and to campus faculty in regards to student-athletes in concussion protocol.
Her contributions to Nebraska Athletics include representing Nebraska at the N4A National Conference in 1998 and 2001, the N4A Regional Conference in 2006, and the National "On Course" Conference in 2008. Schellpeper also served as a working member of the Freshman Experience Task Force from 2000 to 2002, and the Academic Integrity Committee from 2008 to 2009. Schellpeper also contributes to the campus community. In 2019-20, she was appointed to the N150 Commission as a working member of the strategic planning committee. This commission was created to set a vision for the University of Nebraska’s future. In the fall of 2022, she was elected as a member of the inaugural University of Nebraska Staff Senate as a representative of district 2 – the Chancellor’s group. While serving on the Staff Senate, Schellpeper was a working member of the diversity, equity, & inclusion committee where she served as secretary. She also co-chaired the bullying subcommittee where she served as an affiliate member through the spring of 2025. In addition, Schellpeper served as the Staff Senate liaison to the Faculty Senate diversity, equity, & inclusion committee. In 2024, Schellpeper was appointed to the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Women. She currently serves as a working member on this committee.
A native of Stanton, Neb., Schellpeper earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Nebraska in 1981, and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction in August 2000.
