Margaret Nongo-Okojokwu is the Communications and Events Specialist at the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction within the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). In this role, she leads strategic communication efforts, event planning, and engagement initiatives that enhance the school’s visibility and foster connections among students, faculty, and industry partners.  
 
Margaret previously served as an Adjunct Faculty at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she taught Communication Studies at the undergraduate level. She earned her Master of Arts in Integrated Media Communications from UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications in 2022. During her graduate studies, she worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting faculty and students, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at UNL’s Office of Global Affairs, where she helped coordinate the Mandela Washington Fellowship program for emerging African leaders.  
 
Before her time at UNL, Margaret was the Director of Media and Marketing Communications at Majorwaves Communications and Editor of both the Majorwaves Energy Report and Orient Energy Report. She first came to Nebraska in 2017 as part of the pioneer cohort of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, later returning in 2019 to pursue graduate studies.  
 
With extensive experience working with students at all levels, Margaret is passionate about mentorship, diversity, and international student success, drawing from her own experiences to support and empower others.
