As someone who was able to navigate higher education thanks, in part, to his village of supportive staff and faculty, Osvaldo has been able to build and uphold a passion for working with students in higher education to find success in different avenues.

Osvaldo Palma Vargas (he/him) serves as a career coach at the Business Career Center in the College of Business. Through his role, he aims to help students from all backgrounds find and/or prepare for a career that best aligns with their passions and interests. As a first-generation, Nebraska-born professional, Osvaldo also wishes to help every student feel welcomed and valued for their strengths and identities throughout their college journey. This is reflected through his previous experiences with Nebraska College Preparatory Academy, New Student Enrollment, Teacher Scholars Academy, and more.

Holding a Bachelor's in Sociology and a Master's in Educational Administration & Student Affairs from UNL, Osvaldo centers his work to reflect his values of supporting underrepresented student populations, promoting well-being, and being an advocate for his students and higher education. His Clifton Strengths are Includer, Learner, Developer, Discipline, and Individualization.
