Sara Haake serves as the Dispatch Director for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department (UNLPD), a role she has held for the past four years. She began her career at UNLPD as a dispatcher, gaining firsthand experience in emergency communications and developing a strong commitment to public safety and service.
As Dispatch Director, Sara leads daily communications operations, supports dispatcher training and development, and works to ensure high-quality, responsive service to the campus community. Her leadership focuses on professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement within public safety communications.
In addition to her role at UNLPD, Sara serves as a District 1 representative on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Staff Senate, where she advocates for staff interests and contributes to shared governance initiatives.
For the past three and a half years, Sara has also served as the handler for Cash, UNLPD's therapy dog. Together, they support campus wellness initiatives, community engagement events, and outreach efforts, helping strengthen connections between public safety and the university community
